Why are your for Dave Butler? What ideas of his are you enamored with?
Dave Butler stands for a number of things, and I'll be posting in the coming days about why I support him specifically, but in brief:
1. Dave works for unity and consensus, and has on all the boards and commissions he's served on. That value is something that's important to getting things done on Council.
2. Dave stands for maintaining our quality of life in Leesburg, most of the other candidates in the race advocate positions that would put that quality of life at risk by cutting bone and muscle from our Town's government.
3. Dave has the support of the people in the Town I respect the most - people like Mayor Umstattd, Kelly Burk and Susan Horne. It is people like those three that put Leesburg in the strong position it is in today, and Dave will continue that important tradition of measured and reasonable government.
4. Dave Butler is an absolute geyser of critical thinking and knowhow when it comes to Town issues. I had a drink with him a week ago and he corrected some of my misperceptions about the whole water rate issue with humility and patience, even though I tend to get a little...animated...when I discuss things. And he did so with an overwhelming preponderance of facts, knowledge and evidence he'd thought through the issue from every angle.
So yeah, I'm supporting Dave.
